FIRST AID IN CASE OF EMERGENCIES TREATMENTS

Broken or failed tooth?

Hold the tooth by its crown (i.e. the part that is visible above the gums) and clean it in your mouth. If this is not possible clean the tooth in a bowl of milk. Do not clean the tooth with water as this will destroy the living cells of the root and will diminish chances the tooth will survive.

Try to put the tooth back in its original place in the jaw. If not successful, make sure the tooth remains humid. Best to keep the tooth in the fold of your cheek in the mouth, if this is not possible keep it in a cup with milk. If the tooth is dry for longer than 30 minutes, chances are slim the tooth will survive. Always go to a dentist as soon as possible!

Partially broken tooth?

If part of your tooth is broken off, go to a dentist as soon as possible. At the ruptured surface an inflammation may arise. Always take the part of the tooth which is broken of with you to the dentist. Often it can be used to restore the tooth.
